JLG Telehandlers Georgia

John L. Grove chose to retire after spending many years working together with his brother to be able to establish their crane manufacturing company into a world leader. His wife Cora and John celebrated their retirement by setting out on a cross-country journey utilizing their R.V. After that journey, JLG Industries, Inc. emerged and became the global leading manufacturer of specialized material handling equipment and mobile aerial work platforms.

John spent a lot of the time in the R.V. trip talking to prior business associates that the Groves were visiting on their journey. Tragically, while they were visiting the Hoover Dam, 2 employees were accidentally electrocuted on scaffolding. Through following conversations, John saw a huge untapped market for a equipment which could quickly and safely hoist people into the air in order to carry out construction and maintenance work.

When John and his wife returned from the trip, John decided to take action. He and two close friends formed a partnership and then bought a small metal manufacturing company in McConnellsburg, Pennsylvania. In 1970, with an initial crew of 20 employees, the trio built and sold the first JLG aerial work platform. Many parts of the basic design elements of that original equipment are still being incorporated into the current machines

Since John L. Grove first came back into town from his cross-country trip, the company has come a very long way. They have significantly grown since their first aerial work platform initially launched on the marketplace. Even these days, JLG continues to expand into additional worldwide markets. Many innovative machines are made to help customers work safer and be more effective.
