Change an LPG Cylinder
Forklifts are powered by a variety of sources. They could run from gasoline, LP gas or liquid propane, battery or diesel. LP is a clean burning fuel ideal for various applications. There are various facilities which have large liquid propane supplies on site. This allows forklifts to be refueled whenever they require. In other places, the facility will have spare LP cylinders that could be changed out when the equipment has to be refueled.
So as to prevent potentially serious injury, certain precautions must be taken when changing out an LP cylinder. Like for instance: be certain to wear the correct safety equipment such as goggles or safety glasses and heavy gloves. Turn off the ignition of the forklift prior to changing out the tank. Then, close the cylinder valve by turning it until it is closed firmly. Utilize your hand to loosen the hose connection to the tank. Bear in mind that it will turn in the opposite direction of a standard connection and never use any type of wrench or a metal tool on these connections. They are meant to be tightened only by utilizing the hand.
