The Yale powertrain is reliable and rugged. It needs to be powerful enough to always deliver amazing strength through its computer-managed transmission and engine. It provides state-of-the-art clutch packs combined with robust gears and really tough shafts. The drive, steer axle, engine and transmission are all isolated in order to reduce both noise and vibration inside the compartment of the operator.
Mazda and GM Gas & LP Engines:
The Mazda LP and GM Gas Engines are made from cast-iron blocks for long life. These kinds of machines provide an electronically-controlled closed loop fuel system which requires minimum adjustment or repair. These kinds of engines also have hardened exhaust valve seats that reduce wear.
Cummins and Yanmar Diesel Engines:

Standard Electronic Powershift Transmission:
The electronic powershift transmission is standard on most machinery. It features gears which are 15% stronger and shafts which give resistance when driving on rough environment. The strong clutch packs provide 3 times the life of previous packs. Lastly, there is electronic inching available which adjusts automatically so as to reduce maintenance needs by compensating for brake wear.
Techtronix Transmission:
This transmission system uses a computer-controlled power reversal which extends tire life, minimizes shock loading and increases durability. In addition, the auto deceleration feature lessens break pedal usage and break wear.
Drive Axle:
Engineered for extra strength, the drive axle features its brake drum mounting, full floating axle shaft and the pinion gears and strong ring. This part also has optional oil cooled wet disc brakes that are basically maintenance free and completely sealed against contamination.
Steer Axle:
In order to protect the steer cylinder for damage and debris, the Steer Axle features a "sandwich" design. This Steer Axle also has a fixed-length tie rods which can add more stability and durability. The tapered roller bearings help to resist side-to-side and front to back forces. As well, cast ductile iron axle reduces wear and increases toughness.
As part of Yale's regular packages, they have included numerous ergonomic features and safety features. These types of machinery will handle tough environments, while keeping the operator safe and comfortable for the duration of their shift.
