A type of equipment in the material handling industry that can be utilized to raise and move loads from one place to another is called a forklift. Each and every forklift part has a particular function. Different components could be utilized to move the load either vertically or horizontally.
Mast
The forklift mast refers to all the parts which lower and lift the load. There are different kinds of masts used for raising loads to different heights: duplex, triplex, quad and simplex.
Power Supply
There are four different ways you could power a forklift: gas, electric, propane and diesel. The battery is situated inside the cab beneath the seat. The propane tank is on the rear of the truck. The fuel tank on diesel and gas forklifts is under the rear of the truck.
Cab
Located within the center of the truck is the forklift cab. This is where the operator sits and accesses all the informational gauges and controls. The steering wheel, gas pedal, brake, lifting controls and tilting controls are all situated in the cab.
Frame
The frame of the truck carries all the biggest parts of the forklift, like the counterweights, that are located at the rear in order to prevent the truck from tipping when loaded. The frame includes the overhead guard that protects the operator. The undercarriage holds the driveshaft, axles and wheels.
