Seat Belts for Counterbalances
A forklift, also known as a counterbalance, carries loads as heavy as 30,000 lbs. Despite being sturdy and big, these industrial machinery still carry the possible risk of crash or accident. To be able to be very safe, be sure to have operators wear an appropriate seat belt inside the forklift and check that up to standard safety features are also on board. We all know that in case of an accident, seat belts could save lives.
Three-Point Seat Belt
The kinds of seat belts that can extend both across the upper body and over the lap are the three-point seat belts. These types of belts provide an extra safety degree by protecting your body. They are offered in both bucket-seat and bench-seat types. The 3-point seat belts are available in either retractable and non-retractable styles.
Retractable seat belts are normally used in most modern motor vehicles available. While non-retractable styles increase safety, retractable styles offer a lot more comfort. It is not possible for a non-retractable seat belt to extend accidentally.
Lap belts
Two-point lap belts are those which extend over the lower portion of the body. Most lap belts are non-retractable and feature a push-button closure system. In order to secure the seat belt, just press on the belt button and then the two sides would separate.
Circuit-closed seat belt
The circuit-closed seat belts are the type that force forklift operators to wear a seat belt. These seat belts have a micro-switch attached which enables an alarm to sound if an operator starts a vehicle and is not secured by a seat belt. The circuit-closed seat belts are made in both non-retractable and retractable lap-band kinds.
