Pecco Construction Cranes

Types of Hydraulic Cranes
One of the most common cranes in the construction industry is hydraulic cranes. They are utilized to construct everything from buildings and skyscrapers to roadways and freeway overpasses.

Cranes come in a huge variety of models, styles and sizes. These various models enable the owner and operators to execute many more functions within their business. Choosing the right kind of crane is essential for making sure that the material could be safely and efficiently transported to the location it has to get to in order for the construction process to begin.

Truck Cranes
Truck cranes will typically have 2 different cabs. One cab is used to drive the truck unit when in transport mode, while the other is for controlling the crane. These cranes are extremely useful for building locations where a crane is needed in many different places for the duration of the build. This is due to the fact that the crane is capable of being driven easily from one location to another.

Moreover, the cranes can be transported to various construction sites on the road since they could drive themselves and this eliminates the need for extra transport vehicles. Being able to travel on their own greatly lessens transport costs at the end of the day.

The truck crane however is not stable enough to handle all the major loads which a hydraulic crane could handle. Hence, in order to fix this issue, outriggers can be extended from the deck. The outriggers utilize hydraulic pressure to be able to slightly lift the truck off of the ground, making it stable and balanced.

Crawler-Mounted Cranes
Crawler cranes feature big tracks on the bottom of the crane. These massive tracks are similar to the ones seen on other construction equipment such as bulldozers and backhoes. The tracks allow the crane to successfully move around a construction site.
