Many corporations today are trying to be environmentally responsible and set a good example. They desire cleaner products to utilize in their places of business. In order to meet all these expectations, forklift companies and their suppliers are considering cleaner burning energy sources and alternative fuel ideas.

Technology is currently able to help manufacturers build units that when compare to their internal combustion or IC counterparts utilize less overall energy, cost less to operate and reduce carbon footprints. These new designs are creating an obvious shift within the forklift market. Numerous manufacturers have since been encouraged to invest more into the development and research of these emerging machinery.

Approximately 60 percent of today's forklift market is represented by electric units. This is up from around 45% about 20 years ago. Increasingly more corporations and businesses are enjoying lower operating costs by choosing electric. Less Fuel Expenses: The electric models provide more stability and better costs when correctly taken care of and maintained. The chargers and batteries cost much less than Liquid Propane units.

Improved Operator Ergonomics: Internal Combustion or IC engines not just produce emissions but also give off much heat and vibration. Both of these situations can really result in operator exhaustion.
